The European Commission has published a guide to good practices for the promotion and revitalization of local commerce in the Member States of the European Union. The European Commission highlights the I SHOP BRAGA e-commerce platform, developed and implemented by NKA, as one of the best European practices to revitalize and modernize local commerce. An example to be followed:
“Launched in 2016 and promoted by Associação Comercial de Braga (ACB), this platform was initially financed 50% by the Association and 50% by the “Comércio Investe” program. Strategic communication was supported by the Municipality of Braga. The purpose of the platform is to simplify traditional city businesses and give local merchants access to global deals. The I Shop Braga monitors its success by counting the number of adherents to the project over time and by the sales made (15% of the sales value is directed to the platform maintenance expenses, guaranteeing the its sustainability). At its launch, the platform had 12 subscribers and this is expected to increase to 50 by the end of 2018.”
